CEREMONIAL / ART is a gallery that focuses on works of art by the First Nations of Canada. Founded in 2012 by Sarah Macaulay in conversation with the late Chief Beau Dick during an exhibition by the same name (Ceremonial/Art, 2012). Today the gallery works in partnership with Dene artist and curator Jake Kimble for our exhibitions. We are committed to further strengthening the profile of First Nations artists through international and national promotion and representation.
The exhibition space exists and operates as a guest on the traditional and unceded territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), səl’ilwətaɁɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations.
