CEREMONIAL / ART is a gallery that focuses on works of art by the First Nations of British Columbia. Founded in 2012 by Macaulay & Co. Fine Art, the gallery now works in consultation with Haida artist Corey Bulpitt for our curated exhibitions. Ceremonial pieces juxtaposed with art made in the period after the lifting of the Potlatch Ban (1885-1951) and contemporary pieces that reflect on the traditional/modern paradigm are the core of the gallery’s program. We are committed to further strengthening the profile of First Nations artists through international and national promotion and representation.
The exhibition space exists and operates as a guest on the traditional and unceded territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), səl’ilwətaɁɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations.
